How We Vet Eye Care Products on Welpr

Your eyes are one of the most sensitive parts of your body, so we’re extra picky about what makes the cut. From eye drops to rinses, we only list products that are safe, gentle, and fully transparent about what’s inside.

Safer preservatives kept to a minimum

We prefer preservative-free formulas. When preservatives are necessary (like in multi-use solutions), we allow only low levels of well-studied options like boric acid, sodium perborate, polyhexanide, or PHMB—nothing harsh or unnecessary.

No fillers, no irritants

We skip anything that could mess with your eyes’ natural pH or cause long-term irritation. You might see a touch of something like propylene glycol or a gentle humectant here or there, but only when it actually serves a purpose, like locking in moisture or keeping the formula stable.

Product safety

Full transparency, always

If a brand doesn’t list every ingredient, it’s a hard no from us. You deserve to know exactly what’s going near your eyes.

No certifications? No problem

Eye care products rarely come with third-party certifications, so we do the work ourselves, vetting every ingredient and every brand before it lands on the site.
Always free from:

  • Fragrance
  • Parabens
  • Phthalates
  • Sulfates
  • Harsh surfactants
  • Dyes
  • Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives
  • Benzalkonium chloride
