How We Vet Feminine Care Products on Welpr
These products go on—and sometimes in—the most sensitive parts of our bodies. So yeah, we’re extra picky.
Here’s what we look for:
Clean, breathable materials
We stick with natural fibers like 100% cotton (ideally organic and unbleached) or bamboo. They’re gentle on skin, allow airflow, and help reduce irritation and bacteria growth.
Fragrance-free comes first
For most products, we only list unscented options. The rare exception is feminine wash and wipes, which we may allow if they’re scented with natural essential oils. We never allow synthetic “fragrance” or “parfum.” If a product is completely fragrance-free, you’ll see it tagged on the product card
PFAS-free, always
We always look for feminine care products that are completely free from PFAS. If a brand can confirm this through testing, we’ll note it clearly so you can make the best call for yourself.
Minimal, well-studied preservatives
Some products (like wipes or washes) need a tiny bit of preservative to stay safe. If they include something like ethylhexylglycerin or sodium benzoate, it’s in very small amounts and clearly listed.
Only vetted synthetics
If there’s plastic or any kind of synthetic material, it must be BPA-free and clearly labeled. We also look for third-party certifications like OEKO-TEX® to make sure it’s been screened for harmful chemicals—and ideally, it’s not in direct contact with your skin.
Full transparency, always
No vague labeling or hidden ingredients. You’ll know exactly what’s in each product and which materials are touching your body.
Always free from:
- Synthetic fragrance or “parfum”
- Chlorine
- Dyes
- Parabens
- Phthalates
- Triclosan
- PEGs
- Sulfates
- Quats
Look for the Welpr Approved tag
If a product meets all our standards (and every feminine care product on Welpr does), you’ll see the Welpr Approved certification right on the product card.
