How We Vet Medicine Products on Welpr

Last updated: March 17, 2026

When it comes to what you take to feel better, we’re highly selective. From herbal remedies to homeopathic blends, every ingredient and brand is reviewed against our non-toxic standards, so you know exactly what’s going into your body.

Here’s what we look for before adding a product to Welpr:

Clean, purposeful formulations

We look for herbs, homeopathy, and food-based actives first, but we also allow safe, effective synthetics when they serve a real purpose. Every formula is vetted for safety, sourcing, and necessity before approval. If an ingredient isn’t functional or therapeutic, it doesn’t belong.

Flavoring, sweeteners + preservatives

Artificial flavors, colors, and sweeteners like sucralose are never allowed. While stability matters, harsh preservatives don’t belong in medicine either. We only allow gentler options—like citric acid or tocopherols—and only in minimal amounts when truly needed.

Special considerations

Alcohol carriers in homeopathics and tinctures are allowed in modest amounts when functionally necessary.

Butterbur is only approved if it’s PA-free (pyrrolizidine alkaloids removed), so you get the benefits without the liver risks.

Certifications help, but they’re not everything

We highlight trusted third-party standards like USDA Organic and Clean Label Project, but certifications alone aren’t enough. Every product still goes through a full formula review before it lands on Welpr.

Transparency is non-negotiable

If a brand doesn’t disclose its full ingredient list, it doesn’t make it onto Welpr.

Always free from

  • Synthetic dyes and artificial colors
  • Artificial flavors and sweeteners
  • Endocrine disruptors (parabens, phthalates, PEGs, BHA, BHT)
  • Harsh preservatives and formaldehyde-releasers
  • Known carcinogens and unnecessary additives

All medicine products on Welpr are Welpr Approved, so you’ll see that certification badge right on the product card.
